Case Study: Salisbury Crescent
April 17, 2025
This project involved the renewal of an existing 4” ductile iron (DI) gas main and 26 associated service connections using the dead insertion method.
A total of 135 metres of 4” DI main was safely abandoned, and in its place, we dead inserted 135 metres of 75mm polyethylene (PE) pipe. Once the new PE main was in place, all existing service connections were successfully transferred onto the upgraded 75mm PE infrastructure.
This method allowed for a cost-effective and minimally disruptive solution, while ensuring improved system integrity and long-term performance.
